After almost three weeks the crew of Buggyra Ultimate Dakar, Tomas Ourednicek and Pavel Vaculik returned to Czech Republic on Tuesday, 19 January. Tomas and Pavel, who finished their first Dakar together in 47th position with the Hummer H3 EVO were full of emotions and stories to share with family and friends, but the first item on their agenda was a press conference in Hotel Marriott Courtyard, where they told the journalists about their experiences in South America.
“These two weeks were full of highs and lows for us, big highs and big lows. The best moment was for sure to be on the podium together with the whole Buggyra Team, that was really special for us. But we will also remember getting stuck in the desert every 400 metres in almost 50 degrees… It was such a hopeless moment, seemed like we’d never finish that special… Martin Kolomy stopped and offered his help, but we refused to accept it, because in that moment it seemed like we could solve the problem. Five minutes later I knew it was the worst decison I could have made, but by then it was too late. Now our biggest goal is to sleep finally, and enjoy time spent with the family, and then in a few days we’ll sit down and discuss the plans and calendar for the 2016 season. There are quite many options on the table, including changing vehicle, maybe even category…We’d like to say thank you again to all our sponsors and fans, everyone who stood by us in this long way until the finish of our first Dakar Rally together”
Tomas Ourednicek said.
