At its 4th edition, the Merzouga Rally aims to confirm the expectations of our affectionate supporters, but also the challenge of the new competitors, who wish to face one of the most beautiful deserts in the world with its varied terrains. From the big dunes of Merzouga to the technical paths on the mountains, from the high speed tracks on the “plateau” to the narrow river crossings of the Tafilet, the Merzouga Rally follows the traces of one of the most dear stage of the legendary Paris-Dakar.
More than 1000 km to cover in five days plus one Prologue by night with road book. The liaisons are reduced to minimum in favour of spectacular and fun to ride stages.
The shamrock style formula allows the competitors to enjoy the comfort of the Xaluca hotel (www.xaluca.com) as head quarter and to experience the desert in the marathon stage in a luxury tented camp.
As the tradition of the Merzouga Rally goes, great attention is given to the navigation. Competitors will use the same systems as in the Dakar: GPS Unik and satellite tracking systems.
Regarding the dates, Edo Mossi has decided to schedule the race on October 21st to make the life easier to those riders and teams who wish to train for the Dakar and need time to prepare the vehicles before shipping them to South America.
